About

Whether it’s how we move to a rhythm or savor a good drink, these experiences instinctually inspire Glen Nigel Straub to write, inform and entertain. His documentation of the culture around him, whether at home or during his travels, has been seen in publications such as the Boston Herald, Dime Magazine, Metromix, Shecky’s Nightlife Guide, and SPIN.

Based in his hometown of New York City, Glen earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. While at UMass, he was Senior Editor at the Massachusetts Daily Collegian where he created the annual arts magazine, The Scene. Since graduating, he has worked as a freelance writer documenting and commentating on music, nightlife and urban culture for various media outlets.

Glen has worked in marketing at Condé Nast Publications and served as a tour manager for the Brooklyn-based band Tigercity. His intense passion for music is expressed through writing as well as blending beats in the DJ booth. Under the moniker, nigelsounds, he spins an eclectic mix of jams at various bars and lounges throughout New York City.
